Freddy Lee Burris

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, November 26, 2018, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Marlow. Burial of cremated remains will be in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.Freddy was born Sunday, May 31, 1936 in Marlow, to James Obadiah and Mabel Lee (McCarley) Burris. He graduated from the Marlow High School with the class of 1954. He lived in various places such as New Orleans and Denver but for most of his life he lived in the Stephens and Comanche county areas. Freddy was inducted into the OSSAA Hall of Fame for his service as a referee. He served in the Oklahoma National Guard and worked as a Film Lithographer on Fort Sill for over 30 years. Freddy married the love of his life, Barbara Sue Hoy, in Wichita Falls, on June 25, 1954. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family. Survivors include, 2 sons, Joe Burris and wife Nora of Lawton, Jon Burris and wife Amanda of San Antonio, TX, a daughter, Jana Russell of Lawton, 5 grandchildren, Micah, Matt, Emily, Ylenia, Zitta, 12 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Tessa, Shaedyn, Micah Jr., Alyson, Kenshin, Sophia, Pearl, Grady, Archer, Cameron, and Connor. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as additional family, Karen Hoy, David Hoy, Leslie Hoy, Richard Hoy, and Dianne Dirickson.Along with his loving wife, Freddy was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Ted Burris, Mickey Hoy, and a sister, Betty Jane Kirkpatrick.Online condolences may be made to www.CallawaySmithCobb.com...

Rev. Clarence "Woody" McClendon

Clarence "Woody" McClendon, 80, passed away Friday, November 9, 2018 in Duncan. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Marlow, with Rev. Arbuary Ritter officiating. Burial will follow in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow. Woody was born Sunday, December 26, 1937 in Tracy, CA, to Clarence Woodard and Dona Mae (Whaley) McClendon. He spent the majority of his childhood living in various parts of the country and loved to tell stories of his adventures growing up. In 1956, Woody won the lottery when Susie said "I Do" and he was fortunate enough to snag the most loving, devoted, and committed wife in history. They were married on November 11, 1956 in Marlow, in the Methodist Church. Quickly after, Woody began his career as a butcher while simultaneously serving in the Oklahoma National Guard Reserves as a Sergeant 1st class and tank commander. Then at the age of 32, he answered the call to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He graduated from Texas Weslyean College in 1974 with a bachelor of science and continued on to graduate from Texas Christian University in 1977 with a Masters of Divinity. Woody went on to retire after 30 years of service with the United Methodist Church leaving behind countless friends he loved dearly throughout Texas and Oklahoma. Woody was a Master Mason, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, a Shriner, and was a Past Master of Carnegie Lodge #294. Woody was a preacher, joker, storyteller, and papa. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Survivors include, his wife of 62 years, Susie McClendon of Duncan, his children, Woody McClendon of Claremore, Jimmy McClendon of Duncan, Melody Hale of Gordon, TX, 6 Grandchildren, Angie Hale, Jennie Underwood, Randy Hale, Christopher McClendon, Jake McClendon, and Jimmy Smiley, 8 Great-Grandchildren, and a sister, Donna McClendon, as well as several nieces and nephews. Roy Lee Ritter

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, November 15, 2018, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel, with Rev. Gene Lancaster officiating. Burial will follow in the Marlow Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Stephens County Honor Guard . All arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow. Roy was born Sunday, April 13, 1932 in Marlow, to Marvin Melvin and Mable Ruth (Davis) Ritter. He lived in the Stephens county area all of his life and graduated from Bray High School. Roy married his loving wife, Eva Bell Eggleston in Marlow, December 12, 1953. They were married for 62 wonderful years before her passing on February 15, 2016. Roy served in the United States Army and was a rancher. He enjoyed fishing and taking care of his chickens, cattle, and bees. He was one of the founders of the Bray Volunteer Fire Department as well as helping build the fire station. Roy was a member of many associations and served as an officer in many of them such as Stephens County Bee Association, Korean War Association, and VFW-American Legion. He was a member of the Bailey Church.  Survivors include, a daughter, Mary Jane Ritter of Marlow, a grandson, Robert James Ritter of Bray, a granddaughter, Kayla Ann Ritter of Bray, great-granddaughter, Summer Rayne Crowder of Bray, 2 brothers, Billy Don Ritter of Duncan, Bud Ritter and wife Sherry of Duncan, a sister, Louise Herndon and husband Frankie of Marlow, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  Along with his beloved wife, Roy was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Max Hogue, Bob Ritter, and a sister, Deloris Koenig.
